Rimli Roy - Concept, Director, Choreographer & Scenic Design
Born into a family of artists and brought up in Kolkata, Rimli Roy is the Founder and Artistic Director of Surati for Performing Arts and is a recipient of the 2024 Individual Artist Fellowship award from the NJ State Council on the Arts.
As an artiste - dancer, choreographer, actor, producer, and director, Rimli is trained by renowned masters in three distinctly different Indian classical dance forms–Odissi, Bharatnatyam, and Manipuri. She has been engaged in promoting Indian art and culture across the United States and beyond by means of stage performances, educational collaborations with various institutions (museums, schools, libraries) as well as teaching and working for over three decades to take arts to the community. Other than classical dance forms, daringly innovative artiste Rimli ventures outside the domain of conservative classical dance, experimenting with various styles and has fused elements of modern, ballet, jazz, opera, and musical theatre into the stage productions directed and choreographed by her for a global audience on stage and television.
Rimli and the Surati team have toured nationally and internationally and have performed notably at The United Nations, The Kennedy Center of Performing Arts, The Library of Congress, The Lincoln Center for Performing Arts, The Indian Consulate (NY), Brookfield Place, New York City Hall, The Indian Consulate, University of the U.S Virgin Islands’ Reichhold Center, Rutgers University, Alaska Performing Arts Center, University of the West Indies in Barbados and Las Vegas Convention Center (NV) and also at Times Square, NYC. Their work has been featured in Vogue, CNN and NBC.

Arati Roy - Script, Lyrics & Costume Design
Arati Roy is an accomplished writer, poet, scholar and lyricist, from Kolkata, the cultural hub of India. She writes in Bengali and English, in both of which she is equally proficient. She ranked 1st in English Literature in the undergraduate program from Jadavpur University in Kolkata in the year 1967. Especially notable is her ballad on the history of Hudson County, her script and lyrics for the off-Broadway production of Ramaavan - A Musical and her songwriting creations for several Indian movies. She has also done translation related work between Bengali and English.

Sumit Roy is a veteran singer composer music director for films TV serials documentaries stage plays and is also known as the King of Calypso. He has songs on Mother Teresa and has also performed live for her. Notable stage shows: Guru Nanak's Gurbani, Swami Vivekanada, Mahabharata, Goopy Gayen Bagha Bayen, Pied Piper of Hamlin, Prayeschit both with original songs. Matilda, King & I, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, My Fair Lady. Original songs on Rotary. Calcutta Chronicle and Chambal dacoits for BBC Ch IV. Original songs on Patriotism, World Peace, Harmony, Women, Children, Environment, Heritage. Performed in Bangladesh, Nepal, NY, US Virgin Islands, Alaska, Barbados, Las Vegas.

Rajesh Roy (Music score, Ramaavan - A Musical): Director, Producer, Writer, Composer & Singer, Rajesh Roy has performed music live in India and all over the world, as well as provided with music as Composer / Supervisor / Singer / Music Producer for numerous Regional, Bollywood and International films for over two and a half decades. Other than feature films Roy has scored music for over 80 Television series, and more than 600 ad films and campaigns / documentaries / corporate films etc. till date.
Roy had been blessed with the opportunity of working with some of the best directors, producers and production companies in the country, including Pankuj Parashar, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Sudhir Mishra & Late Sudhanshu Mishra, Prahlad Kakkad, Zee, Sony, UTV, T-Series, Star Network, and numerous others, from whom he acquired invaluable knowledge and experience of film making. He started writing to direct in the year 2008. Seven years later, he launched a production house named “Shoot At Site Motion Pictures”, which now arguably possesses one of the largest original and quality script libraries in Bollywood. One of Roy’s latest releases has been a song in salute to all the front−liners, during the torrid times of the 2020 pandemic.
